Title: Yesterday My Worries Got the Best of Me
Fandom: Inception, Baldur's Gate
Rating/Warnings: E for Everyone B)
Pairings/Characters: Arthur/Syeira, Arthur, Syeira, Zhas
Summary: prompt- "I'm not jealous"

Arthur was heading into the kitchen, looking for Syeira. He hesitated in the doorway. She was with Zhas, and Zhas and Arthur... still didn't get along. To say the least. They were turned from him, but their posture was intimate. They were talking quietly, Syeira giving lengthy replies, Zhas giving short ones. And then she turned her head and kissed his cheek. Arthur felt his stomach do a weird turn, and he decided he should leave them alone. He was turning when he caught Syeira's eye, and he felt a shot of panic go through him.

“Arthur?” she said questioningly, a red curl falling in her face. Zhas turned and growled unhappily, giving Arthur a flat look. Arthur narrowed his eyes at him before returning his gaze to Syeira.

“I'll just go,” he said. He walked back out, ignoring her “You don't- Arthur!”

She caught up with him a minute later, stopping him by walking in front of him and pushing at his chest. “Arthur, stop.”

He did, and waited for her to speak.

“What's wrong?” she asked before touching his cheek. He took her hand gently.

“Nothing. I just... It surprised me.”

“What did?”

“Just... the whole kissing Zhas on the cheek thing,” he said, looking down. There was a pause.

“Arthur, are you jealous?”

“No.”

She raised a brow. “Are you sure?”

He could feel his face flushing. “I'm not jealous.”

“Arthur,” she said in her no-nonsense tone. He sighed.

“Okay, I'm not jealous like... that. I just don't like him, and... yes, I'm jealous of the attention you give him. I know it's ridiculous,” he admitted, rubbing the back of his burning neck. She took his hand and brought it down with hers.

“Arthur, you know I adore you. I care about Zhas, too, though. Nothing's going to change that. And nothing's going to change how I feel about you. Okay?” she said. He nodded, the tension melting from his shoulders, and she leaned up to give him a peck and wrap her arms around him.

“I'm sorry,” he said softly, and she shook her head.

“Shh, silly. You're ruining the moment.”

He smiled against her hair. Maybe he and Zhas could coexist and love Syeira at the same time, if they tried.
