Title: Christmas Concerns
Fandom: Inception, Baldur's Gate
Rating/Warnings: E for Everyone B)
Pairings/Characters: Arthur/Syeira, Arthur/Eames, Arthur/Syeira/Eames, Arthur and Syeira and Eames
Summary: Eames and Syeira are concerned for Arthur
Eames had become a regular fixture on the Red Fish. So it wasn't odd that he came over for a Christmas celebration. He had decided on the ugliest sweater he could find on the planet. It was red with some strange three-headed animal on it in black. Eames found it delightful.
And Arthur, of course, made terrible fun of him. But that was half the fun. So was seeing Syeira's eyebrows rocket up her forehead in surprise.
It had been a little hard lately. A friend of Arthur's had disappeared, which had already happened to Syeira and Eames. Arthur didn't make fast friends, and so the loss was even harder on him. Eames could see the strain and the pain on his face, in his movements.
The party was nice. They were cozied up in the corner of the kitchen, sipping on hot drinks and picking at chocolates and candies. Arthur kept holding Syeira's hand, and Eames couldn't help but kiss Arthur's cheek, grinning deviously as Arthur rolled his eyes. The lack of smile felt... bad. Arthur excused himself to go to the bathroom, and then it was just Syeira and Eames.
Syeira scooted over next to him, smiling kindly. “He'll be alright.”
“I know, but I...” Eames trailed off, not sure what to say. He shook his head. “How do you get him to smile like that or hold your hand?”
“I don't really know,” she said with a helpless furrow of her brows. “Just do what comes naturally. And try to be there for him.”
Eames pressed his lips together, glancing up when Arthur came back over. “You doing okay?”
And Arthur smiled at him, something soft and thankful. “I'm fine.”
Eames glanced over at Syeira, smiling like they were sharing a secret.
